Timo Ickenroth studied jazz drumming under Hans Dekker, Danny Sahupala and René Engel at the Saxion Hogeschool in Enschede in the Netherlands, graduating as a Bachelor of Music. He took private lessons and master classes with Keith Copeland, Bruno Castelluci, Thomas Lang, Prof. Michael Küttner, Prof. José Cortijo, Nippy Noya and René Cremers, among many others.
He has taken part in many band projects in various styles like jazz, funk, soul, rock/pop, blues, Latin, country and Drum ‘n’ Bass and has performed with Silvia Droste, Bart van de Lier, Ack van Rooyen and Johnny Logan, among many more. He is a product specialist and demonstrator for electric drums for the company ‘Roland’ and is an editor for the specialist drum magazine ‘STICKS’. In 2009, Timo Ickenroth founded the NEW GROOVE FACTORY in Koblenz with the aim of promoting young talent and accompanying them on their musical journey through qualified, individual and modern lessons in the areas of jazz, rock and pop.
